SD11 Folks, here are some announcements of some interesting club meetings taking place this week. SD11's own Debbie Roan will be speaking Monday at the SJRW club about getting a Conservative Majority back in DC, after last week and Obama's big bill we need to help her get that done and hear what she has to say. Thanks Dennis Paul SREC SD11 San Jacinto Republican Women's February 16th Meeting Time: 6:30 pm social / 7:00 pm meeting begins Location: DaniVens Steak & Seafood - 4940 Fairmont Parkway) Topic of Discussion: Coalition for a Conservative Majority Guest Speaker: Debbie Guitian Roan Debbie and her family came to Texas in November of 2003. Debbie has demonstrated her Republican dedication by working Republican campaigns as Tom Delay in '04, Shelley Sekula-Gibbs in '06 and recently the Pete Olson for Congress campaign in '08. Currently Debbie is the President of the Houston Chapter of the Coalition for a Conservative Majority (www.ccmajority.com/houston ). She has also held the offices of Corresponding Secretary, 1st Vice President, President and Immediate Past President of the Bay Area Republican Women (www.barw.org). Debbie will be discussing the Coalition for a Conservative Majority (CCM) Organization. The Coalition is a results driven grassroots action and information organization, the first such conservative organization worthy of the name. Guest Speaker: Ed Hubbard Ed is a life-long Republican. He came to Texas to study law at SMU in 1980 and has practiced law in the Houston area since 1983. Ed has been active in educational, church and political activities in the Houston area, and recently won a contested primary to become the Republican nominee for a position on the First Court of Appeals in the last election. Ed has been involved with several groups and organizations that have been discussing new strategies for local Republicans, including "Future of the HCRP" and the "Houston Group of Rebuild the Party.Com". Ed and his team maintain a website dedicated to this mission at www.futureoftheHCRP.com. Ed will discuss the challenges currently facing the party locally, as well as offer some proposals for new strategies to increase Republican voting strength in Harris County in 2010 and beyond. |
