Thank you to everyone who has already purchased tickets or sponsored my 6th Annual BBQ! For the last 5 years I have held this annual event in the heart of HD129 and Precinct 2, and had hoped to do so again this year. I'm disappointed to announce that we have had to move outside of our district, and ultimately Harris County. I sincerely apologize for the short notice, but we will now be having the BBQ at Walter Hall Park in League City.
Despite having a contract in place for months with Commissioner Adrian Garcia's office in Precinct 2, we were notified late last week that we would not be able to have any sort of fundraising activities at Clear Lake Park. I would like to think that this was a simple miscommunication, but it seems par for the course for Democrats in Harris County. After what Judge Hidalgo and Commissioners Ellis and Garcia pulled last week with their redistricting vote (see Commissioner Jack Cagle's video here), it appears that they will stop at nothing to undermine conservatives in our county.
Thankfully, Galveston County Judge Mark Henry, Commissioner Ken Clark and State Representative Greg Bonnen have graciously welcomed us into their community and quickly accommodated us with a new facility. I think this will be our best BBQ yet, and hope that you will join me in sending a message to Commissioner Garcia by attending: HD129 is not his for the taking, and we will take Harris County back in 2022!
