SD 11 events and state convention

To all SD11 folks!  I hope all is well.  I want to announce that we will be having a precinct / convention training meeting for SD11 and SD17 activist on Saturday May 15th at the Bay Area Christian School at 4800 W Main in League City, TX from 9am till 11:30 AM.  More information will be forthcoming.

We still need volunteers to help with registration at the Republican State Convention at the Dallas Convention Center June 10-12.  We would like to have some volunteers from every Senate District, and so far do not have any registration volunteers from SD 11.

The registration duty essentially involves checking in Delegates and Alternates, validating identity (they must show ID) and giving them their badges.

These are the shifts when we still need quite a few more volunteers:

Thursday 3:30 - 7:00 p.m.

Friday 9:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

Friday 12:30 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Delegates can help during these periods without interfering with their duties (there is no voting in the general session that starts noon Friday, and caucuses do not start until 4:00 p.m. Friday).  Non-Delegates will have a badge that will admit them to the Convention and caucuses as observers even though they may not vote; and of course they can enjoy the trade show at their leisure.

Attached is the application form that volunteers should submit.  There are now two volunteer training options (Thursday at 9 a.m. and Friday at 8 a.m.), and we will try to accommodate people who cannot make either of those sessions.

Incidentally, there will be two volunteers per registration booth, and we can pair people who want to work together if they note that on their application.

Please send in the forms and help us we do not want to have no helpers from SD11 at the convention.  Please let me know if you can help.  I also have some volunteers who will help if she can find a room mate.

Thanks and God Bless,

Dennis Paul
