E-Newletter from State Representative Dennis Paul

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW  YEAR FROM THE TEXAS CAPITOL!

A Message from Representative Paul upon the Christmas Holiday

My family and I would like to wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas!  I pray God richly blesses you during this season and may He continue to bless Texas.

News from the Capitol

The month of December is a magical time at the Texas Capitol as we celebrate Christmas, welcome thousands of visitors, and come together to deliver joy to many children in need.   As most of you know the House Christmas tree is decorated with both traditional Christmas ornaments and those collected through the District Ornament Project.  While visiting the Texas Capitol this holiday season, you can see how our community is represented on the House Christmas tree.  To read more about the district ornaments click here.

Throughout the summer and fall months members participated in interim hearings to discuss issues that could potentially be debated during the 85th Legislative session.  It has been an honor to serve on both the Insurance and Pension committees in the House.  There is no question, Texas has much work to do to ensure pensions are protected and Texans have reliable insurance and resources for continued health and protection.

A look around District 129

Recently, Eliza and I had the great honor of attending many exciting events throughout the district.  The Economic Alliance Port Region hosted events where we discussed upcoming legislative topics and issues facing Texas.

The Veterans Recognition event hosted by Jerry Roth & James Guthrie highlighted the courageous Veterans in our community.  It is always great to see what is being done to continue growth in our region.  Additionaly, I was able to bring in the holiday season by attending the Tri Cities Republican Women's Silver Bells Gala.

My staff and I are eager to grow our support for industry and economic development while continuing to work hard to benefit the the constituents of House District 129.
