E-Newsletter from State Representative Dennis Paul

Early Voting Begins for Texas Constitutional Amendment Election

Each Legislative Session, the House and Senate place various proposed changes to the Texas Constitution on a statewide ballot. Each legislatively approved amendment must be ratified by a majority of voters at this November election before taking its place in the Constitution. The current State Constitution was adopted in February of 1876, and has been amended over 400 times during the last 141 years.

Early voting for the 2017 constitutional amendment election begins Monday, October 23rd and continues through November 3rd. Election Day is November 7th. You will find a brief description of each proposition attached; following the italicized text you will see on the actual ballot. You may view the propositions here.
