DISTRICT NEWS

Rep. Paul attended the USACEHQ Galveston District Forum to discuss the post Hurricane Harvey Restoration & Improvement of Water Resources Infrastructure. Constituents should call their US Congressman and Senators to express support for the coastal barrier storm wall.  Rep. Paul is pictured here with Colonel Zetterstrom from the briefing.

The USACE has four plans for the coastal barrier storm wall. The first report will be out in May, a second is expected in 2019 followed by another in 2021. Once the study has been approved, the design phase will begin and will take three years to complete.

Construction is expected to take 15 years once funding has been approved by Congress and local partners.
Representative & Mrs. Paul attended the award ceremony for the Catholic Extension as they awarded Arch Bishop Fiorenza with the Francis award. The funds raised at the event will go to dioceses in need for Harvey relief.
Recently Representative Paul attended the TXDOT SH3 Access Management Plan public input meeting at Webster Civic Center. It was an informative event with local leaders and community members.

An Important Recovery Tool: Permanent Housing Checklist:
For survivors of Hurricane Harvey, finding permanent housing can be a major task in their recovery process.
