State Convention and other news

To all SD11 activists!  First of all I want to thank you for your support of my re-election to the SREC, and those in CD22 your support for me for election to the national nominations committee.

I enjoyed the convention and I think we had some good discussions and interesting races.  We re-elected Tina Benkiser as our state chairman and SD11's own Robin Armstrong as our vice-chairman.   The SREC also elected our immediate past SD11 SREC committee women Kathy Haigler as the Secretary of the state party so SD11 now has two folks on the state leadership.  We also elected Sheryl Burg as our new SREC Committee Women in a race with three women running.

The best news for SD11 is that we have one of if not the largest contingent of folks going to national convention!  We have 7 delegates, Robin Armstrong, Dennis Paul, Kathy Haigler, Ken Clark, Trey Stinnet, Anita Bargas, and Sandy Golden and 4 Alternates, Chris Pedan, Chris Harvey, Lilian Keeney, and Travis Bryan.  What a great group!  I think we will have fun and have a bunch that will fight for conservative causes at the convention.

Last weekend we had our SREC training meeting for new folks and we will have new committee assignments soon.  I will keep you informed of what is going on as we hear it.  The CRC deadline was extended to July 21st so if any local candidates wants to apply for funds please let me know ASAP.

Thanks for all that you do and lets keep up the hard work and get Republicans elected in November!!  Tell everyone to get their political news and info from SRECSD11.com and let us know what you all are doing!  Galveston county has opened a campaign office, Harris County has a SD11 office in Clear Lake, and Brazoria County will have one soon, keep an eye on SRECSD11.com for details.

God Bless and thanks!
Dennis Paul
