Inaugural Newsletter

INAUGURAL NEWSLETTER OF THE 84TH TEXAS LEGISLATURE FROM THE OFFICE OF STATE REPRESENTATIVE DENNIS PAUL

Elizabeth Paul, Representative Paul, and Mrs. Eliza Paul
Opening Day of the 84th Legislative Session.

Opening day of the Texas Legislature took place on January 13, where members were sworn in to represent their legislative districts.  I was happy to welcome so many friends and family who supported my efforts to work in Austin.  I look forward to representing House District 129 with determination and a stead fast fervor that will make everyone proud.  I am eagerly awaiting house committee assignments, so that I am able to represent the needs of our community.  To learn more about the legislative process please visit the  Texas Legislature Online.

Governor Perry's Farewell Address

Former Texas Governor Rick Perry gave his farewell address to the Texas Legislature during a joint session on the 21st of January. He rose from humble beginnings to become the longest serving Governor of the great State of Texas. He described Texas as the state where "it's not where you come from that matters, it's where you are going."

We would like to thank Governor Rick Perry for his long service to our state. Under his governorship Texas became a leader in job creation and one of the most competitive in business in the US. Thank you Rick Perry for dedicating your efforts to serving Texans and putting them back to work.
