SD 11 SREC: District 129 Session Newsletter

This week we received our committee assignments. During the 88th Legislative Session, I will serve as the Vice Chair of the Higher Education Committee and also sit on the Insurance Committee and the Local & Consent Calendar Committee. I look forward to working with my colleagues to pass meaningful legislation for all Texans.

As the 88th Session of the Texas Legislature continues through the first sixty days, there will be very little activity on the House floor as members continue working behind the scenes. Legislators will be busy working on legislation until Monday, May 29th, when the 88th Legislative Session adjourns.

On Wednesday, Speaker Dade Phelan announced committee assignments for the 88th Legislature. I am honored to serve as the Vice Chair of the Higher Education Committee and will also be serving on the Insurance Committee and the Local & Consent Calendars Committee.

Also, this week I was honored to welcome the Leadership class of the Clear Lake Area Chamber of Commerce. It was a great pleasure meeting with this group and discussing the 88th Legislative Session and their priorities.
