District 129 Session Newsletter

This week, the Governor gave his State of the State address where he laid out his agenda for the legislative session. He asked the legislature to take up 7 emergency items which I will detail below. Also this week, the Aerospace Caucus had its first meeting of session.

State of the State

On Thursday, Governor Abbott gave his biannual State of the State Address, where he laid his out priorities for the 88th Legislative session. During this address he also gave 7 "emergency items." Constitutionally, these emergency items are allowed to be taken up at any time prior to the 60th day of session when ordinary bills are allowed to be heard. The 7 emergency items are listed below:

Also, this week I was honored again serve as Chairman of the Texas Aerospace Caucus for the 88th session! We look forward to working with everyone to promote policies that allow us to maintain Texas as a world leader in space exploration.
