| GOVERNOR ABBOTT RELEASES BUDGET AND SPEAKS ON OTHER PRIORITIES The Governor announced a call for a property and franchise tax reduction. In his "State of the State" speech, Abbott also listed four emergency items: Sanctuary cities, CPS, ethics, and Convention of States. Highlights Of The Governor's Budget: - Adds $500 million for reforming Child Protective Services (CPS)
- Maintains $800 million in funding for border security
- Fully funds $5 billion in additional road construction without new taxes, fees, debt, or tolls
