FEMA: HURRICANE HARVEY FACTS



IN THIS SECTION WE PROVIDE TRANSITIONAL SHELTERING ASSISTANCE/DIRECT HOUSING MAINTENANCE HOTLINE INFORMATION AND MORE

Recovery officials with the Federal Emergency Management Agency are working to assist those still remaining in temporary hotel shelter programs to transition to more permanent housing.

Disaster Recovery Centers are one stop shops for survivors seeking face-to-face help from state and federal agencies. Reasonable accommodations are made for survivors with disabilities or access and functional needs.

Rep. Paul attended the Pasadena State of the City where Mayor Jeff Wagner spoke and San Jacinto College was honored as the 2018 Business Of The Year.



Rep. Paul attended the Clear Creek Watershed steering committee to discuss flooding in the region. The Corp of Engineers provided an informative update on the project to multiple elected officials.

Governor Abbott Announces New Hazard Mitigation Funding For Harvey Recovery
Governor Greg Abbott joined local leaders in Rockport and Houston recently, to announce the availability of new funding for hazard mitigation projects along the Gulf Coast following the devastation of Hurricane Harvey. This allocation of funding from FEMA will provide an estimated $1 billion for hazard and flood mitigation projects designed to both help Texas rebuild and reduce the risk of future damage from flooding and Hurricanes. The hazard mitigation funding will be operated by the Texas Division of Emergency Management, and starting today, cities and counties can submit applications for projects. SpaceX News
On February 6, 2018, SpaceX successfully completed the first launch of its new Falcon Heavy launch vehicle.  The Falcon Heavy is the most powerful operational rocket in the world - capable of lifting more than twice the payload of the next closest operational vehicle at one-third the cost. The two side boosters used in the launch were both successfully returned to earth, and simultaneously landed safely on landing pads at Kennedy Air Force Station. This launch and the landing of the boosters was an historic step forward for SpaceX and for the future of American spaceflight.
