District 129 Session Newsletter

The House passed the state budget for the 2026-2027 biennium. To learn more about it, see below. 


I was proud to vote for HB 10 and HB 12 that also passed in the House.


My final bill, HB 5295, was referred to committee, and five previously referred bills were heard in committee on Wednesday. You’ll find more information about those five bills below.


The House Committee on Insurance convened on Wednesday to hear and vote on legislation.


Next week, the following House committee hearings are scheduled:

  • House Sub-Committee on Transportation Funding: Monday, the 14th, at 10 AM.
  • House Committee on Insurance: Wednesday at 8:00 AM
  • House Committee on Transportation: Thursday at 8:00 AM

The 2026-2027 Texas Budget

House Bill 10 and House Bill 12

Updates on my Bills:

Wednesday moved quickly, with five bills laid out for consideration.


First, I laid out House Bill 2068 before the House Committee on Natural Resources. HB 2068 relate to the governance and territory of the Harris County Flood Control District.


Then, I presented House Bill 3150 to the House Committee on Insurance. HB 3150 relates to billing and reimbursement for certain medical equipment, devices, and supplies provided to Medicare enrollees; creating a criminal offense.


Also in the House Committee on Insurance, I laid out House Bill 3960. The bill relates to the effect of certain misrepresentations on certain insurance policies.

Later that afternoon, I laid out House Bill 3775 before the House Committee on Elections. HB 3775 relates to the processing of early voting ballots voted by mail.


Lastly, I presented House Bill 4275 also before the House Committee on Elections. HB 4275 relates to countywide polling places.
