District 129 Session Newsletter

This week, we started our committee hearings. It was great to hear from various state agencies about their operations. My staff and I had many vital meetings to hear from constituents and organizations.


Our first hearing for the House Committee on Higher Education is Monday, March 6th, at 10:00 AM. We will hear from the organizations which the committee has jurisdiction over. Please click HERE to see the notice and to watch online.


Our hearing for the House Committee on Insurance is Tuesday, March 7th, at 8:00 AM. We will hear from testimony on various bills. Please click HERE to see the bills and to watch online.


As the bill filing deadline approaches next week I have currently filed 19 bills. Please tune in to next weeks newsletter for an overview of what I am working on this session.

Texas Independence Day

187 years ago today, Texas declared its independence. Today we celebrate Texas history and culture. I am proud to be able to represent the great state of Texas.

Insurance Committee

Also, the House Committee on Insurance met this week for an organizational meeting. We heard from the following agencies: Texas Department of Insurance, Office of Public Insurance Counsel, and Texas Windstorm Insurance Association.

Galveston County Day

We welcomed Galveston County to the State Capitol on Wednesday. It was great to visit with this lovely group., and hear about their legislative priorities.
